Bicol Sanitarium Bags the 2018 DOH Star Award
 

Star Award

Bicol Sanitarium received the 2018 DOH Hospital Star Award for being one of the Best Level 1 Hospitals in the country. The award was given to the hospital in acknowledgement of its efforts in upholding high standards of quality and best practices in the delivery of health service towards achieving universal health care.

Recipients of this award excel in the following components: Patient and Employees Safety, Infection Control, Service Provision, Customer and Employees Satisfaction, Community-based Projects and activities, and Quality Improvement.

The awarding was held at the Manila Hotel during the Philippine Hospital Association 69th Annual Convention Program on November 14-17, 2018 attended by Dr. Edgardo R. Sarmiento, Chief of Hospital II, and Dr. Narcisa Louella Nadal-Bonacua, Medical Service In-Charge.

          The Health Information Management Section directs & ensures an organized system of processing, analyzing, maintaining and safekeeping of all patients' data and records, including the realease of medical records and consolidation of hospital data and statistics. It uses a process of patient registration by electronic and written data covering the diagnosis, treatment and discharge of patient.
 
The Section has two (2) units:
a. OPD records Unit that caters to both inpatients and out-patients;
b. Admitting Unit that directs and controls the centralized registration and documntationnof admission and discharges of patients.

The Inauguration and blessing ceremony of the new 32-bed General Service Ward of Bicol Sanitarium was held on July 07, 2017. The prayer service and blessing was conducted by Rev. Fr. Noli Montaña, Parish Priest of Barcelonita, Cabusao, Camarines Sur. It was participated by BS Employees headed by Dr. Edgardo R. Sarmiento.

 

The General Service Ward was constructed in support to the government's thrust in giving quality healthcare service especially to the poor, marginalized and vulnerable. It caters to patients 24 hours a day, 7 days in a week and is located beside the Emergency Building.
